Keep the piece as it left the bench

A little care goes a long way. Most of the damage we see isn't a manufacturing fault — it's perfume, chlorine, snagging, or a well-meaning but harsh at-home “cleaning”. Follow the guidance below to keep your piece looking as it did the day it arrived.

Every day

• Put jewellery on last — after perfume, lotion, sunscreen, and hair products. Take it off first when you come home.
• Do not shower, swim, or train in the piece. Chlorine, salt, and sweat lift plating and loosen stones.
• Do not sleep in long chains or drop earrings.
• Keep pieces separate. Chains knot and scratch each other in one heap.

Gold, plated gold, and silver

• Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
• If you must wash, use lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry fully. No toothpaste, baking soda, lemon, or commercial dip on plated or stone-set work.
• Silver will tarnish. That is normal. A jewellery cloth brings it back. Do not use bleach or acetone.

Stones and pavé

• Pavé and halo settings catch lotion. Clean with a soft brush only, from the front, no digging at the grains.
• A loose stone should come back to us. Do not press it in with glue.

Chains, clasps, and extenders

Zevar necklaces use a thin cable chain, a lobster clasp, and open jump rings on an extender tail. That is the real closure.

• Open the lobster. Do not force the jump rings oval.
• Please don't substitute a magnetic clasp or “hidden lock” — changing the findings affects return eligibility and workmanship review.
• If a chain kinks, stop pulling. Send it to us.

Hinged bangles and charms

• Open the hinge fully before you put the bangle on. Do not twist it onto the wrist.
• Check charm jump rings now and then. A slightly open ring is an easy workshop fix; a lost charm is not.

Storage

• Use the Zevar pouch or box. Anti-tarnish strips help silver.
• Keep silica gel away from children; do not eat it.

What we will look at

Workmanship that fails under normal wear may be reviewed within 30 days of delivery. Accident, chemicals, third-party repair, and altered findings are outside that review. After 30 days, repairs are quoted.
